I’m delighted that The British University in Dubai was asked to participate in the Financial Wellness Programme, delivered by Kids Finance Initiative and powered by one of the founding members of our University, Emirates NBD. This programme provides clear, succinct, and vital information for school and university students alike. I know our students greatly benefited from their involvement – learning how to be financially independent, how to manage their money successfully, and how to break any bad habits they may have got into.

If there is one skill that every adult is expected to have, it is Personal Finance. The financial wellness program was a fantastic initiative that elucidated young minds to make smarter independent financial decisions. While schools prepare the students to take on corporate finance, this program covers aspects of personal finance, making students more informed and confident in making personal financial decisions.

We are delighted to have been a part of this initiative organized by KFI and supported by ENBD. The students enjoyed the very engaging, interesting, and informative sessions. A special thanks to Marilyn for curating, designing, and running the unique program for our students.

Thank you seems to be so small, so insignificant for this amazingly wonderful opportunity rendered to such a large number of Year Nine children at the school. The opportunity for children to engage collaboratively in a stimulating virtual space to become sharper in their understanding of finance was one that they shall cherish for years to come.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to Emirates NBD for making this possible for the children. At a time when children have been struggling to find a sense of reason and purpose, this opportunity came like a breath of fresh air to them. The course was exceedingly well conducted and very well received. I have received tremendous positivity from the parents and the students. Parents have written about how suitable and age appropriate this was and how the children are using the skills they have honed to now actively participate in key familial financial decisions.

Please accept my humble gratitude for reaching out to us and know that ‘you have made a tremendous difference’

With my heartfelt appreciation

Our school is very proud of the students who took part in your program, as we saw great development in their way of thinking and their level of awareness, as well as in their recognition of the importance in their lives of what they learnt.

Thank you with all my heart. We are proud of you

With limited opportunities to gain school-age part-time employment in the UAE students are at risk of not understanding the value of money. This programme serves a valuable role in helping to educate our young pupils about both personal finance and also the financial sector. Participants will develop a perspective on the value of money, they will be better placed to handle future personal wealth responsibly and may be encouraged to pursue a career in the finance sector. A wonderful initiative that fills a gap in our school ECA provision.

Taaleem looks forward to supporting this educational initiative, by offering these after school-activities that will serve to improve the knowledge and understanding of responsible financial management for our students.

We are excited about this new programme, Money Savvy Kids,  for our students that will help them get a head start with developing good money habits, dealing with financial challenges of adulthood and for their own personal growth.

Vice Principal, Deira Private School
